Mathieu Roberts

MATHIEU ROBERTS has been telling stories through film since his late teens. He began his career as a freelance editorial photographer, branching out as director of photography on several Barbara Kopple documentaries. He worked as cameraman on “American Dream,” which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary.

In the ‘90’s, Mathieu shot forty Kmart commercials featuring a little known caterer and cookbook author, Martha Stewart, helping to make her name nationally known. He photographed several of Martha’s books, including “New Old House.”

Mathieu is equally adept as director and camerman and often does both. He has worked as camera operator on music projects with artists Lady Gaga, Jay Z, and Kanye West as well as on projects for ESPN and Red Bull sports events. He has directed national TV spots and worked as director of photography on independent features.
